Worth every penny for my elderly mother
This product has been a lifesaver (literally). My elderly mother with dementia was not properly taking her meds. This dispenses pills using an alarm and light. We currently use it for once a day, but it can be used for multiple occasions throughout the day. The instructions are complete and make setup easy. Others mentioned frustration over spots being left empty, but this is just due to the math when using multiple pills per day, not sure why they couldn’t figure that out. Pills are dispensed automatically via a rotating carousel. The lid locks with a key so it can’t be tampered with and to prevent extra dosing. We have had no issues with how secure it is, seems plenty secure and durable. The alarm is loud enough to be heard from the other room or over the television.

Lessens your burdens
This pill caddy is good for someone who forgets to take their pills, but who’s not so far gone that when they hear the alarm, they don’t know what’s going on. So, keep that in mind. The patient has to have enough of their faculties that they can go and get the pills out when the alarm sounds.It’s pretty easy to set up. The directions are fairly clear. One thing to keep in mind: it matters what time of day you set this up. My mom does a.m. and p.m. pills. I set this up in the middle of the day. So, the next alarm that would go off would be her evening alarm, so I made sure that her evening pills were the first ones to come around when the machine rotated.This has only happened once, but one of her pills got turned sideways and actually got stuck, so that when she turned it upside down, all of them came out but that one. And she’s not cognizant enough to notice and make a point of digging that pill out. So, I don’t think it’s going to be much of a problem, but thought I should point it out to be thorough.I really like this. So far, it’s working great. If your loved one forgets to take their pils routinely, this might work for them. The alarm is loud enough (there are different volume settings), and I love that simply taking the action to dump the pills out turns off the alarm. That really helps reinforce the taking of the pills. Can you imagine if there was a big button that would shut off the alarm? People would shut it off b/c it’s irritating, then they might forget to take the pills. So, I love that feature.My mom’s only been using this for about 3 weeks, but so far, it’s working great, and I’m definitely glad I bought this. I just hope it’s a long time before my mom gets to the point where when the alarm goes off, she says, “What’s that beeping sound?”

Highly recommend for elderly medication dispensing.
This device is awesome. Purchased for my elderly mother who still lives alone but is no longer able to manage her meds on her own, forgetting if she takes them. The setup is easy and you can customize the alarms and dispensing time. It is very sturdy and functions well. I purchased a second one so I can prep the next round of meds and trade the empty for the full in a timely manner.

Lithium-ion battery issue
Our LiveFine 28-day medicine dispenser doesn’t work using lithium-ion batteries. Our devise malfunctions at the designated alarm time: the screen turns off momentarily and then defaults to an incorrect time. The alarm doesn’t sound, the light doesn’t flash, and the wheel doesn’t rotate to dispense the medicine. Our dispenser will stay in this non-operative mode until we re-install alkaline batteries and then re-set the clock and alarm time.We use the dispenser for a relative’s medicine at their house. We monitor the relative and the dispenser’s operation remotely using a security camera and we drive to the relative’s house (~4 hours round trip) at least every few weeks to replenish the dispenser (unfortunately, but understandably, the relative’s caregiver won’t fill the dispenser for liability reasons). After more than a year of daily, trustworthy use of the dispenser, we noticed that the dispenser’s clock was running behind the actual time. Consequently, we replaced the original alkaline batteries provided with the dispenser with new lithium-ion batteries. That night, the alarm didn’t sound, the light didn’t flash, and the wheel didn’t rotate to dispense the medicine.I drove back to the house the next day to evaluate the medicine dispenser malfunction. The clock displayed an incorrect time, but the alarm time was correct. I assumed that I had somehow set the clock incorrectly after I installed the lithium-ion batteries. I reset the clock and monitored the dispenser several hours and left only after the device appeared to track the correct time. However, the dispenser didn’t work again that night. I returned to the house, and replaced the original dispenser with a new dispenser and took the original dispenser home to evaluate.The dispenser worked as designed using alkaline batteries but failed to operate each time using multiple sets of new lithium-ion batteries. At the designated alarm time (in this case, 8:15 p.m.), the dispenser’s clock automatically switches to 6:00 p.m. and the device doesn’t alarm or dispense medicine whenever it’s operating with lithium-ion batteries.I couldn’t find mention of this lithium-ion battery limitation in the directions that came with the dispenser or on the Internet. This time-consuming, costly issue caused us a great deal of problems. In my opinion, don’t use lithium-ion batteries in the LiveFine medicine dispenser.

This is one of those dementia products that promises alot and truly delivers what it promises. We have close family with Alzheimer’s and she could never take her pills on time… or at all… or worse miss a few days and then take them all at once. It was a disaster so we thought we’d try this and even if it worked for a few weeks it would be cheaper than hiring someone to ensure she got her pills on time and didn’t miss them. This thing has been a Godsend, it’s never missed a beat and has been ensuring she gets the right dosage when she is supposed to get them. Its kept her getting her proper medication for the better part of a year and better yet, when you go to fill it you can see if she missed a dose etc. Such a great deal at the price!

Absolutely a game changer. No missed medications. Super easy to set up and time alarm is so loud it can be heard from our in the garden and r anyone who is hard of hearing or deaf because not only does an alarm sounding like a smoke detector it also has a green flashing light that keeps on until you pick it up open the dispenser and then put it down again.
