Automatic pill dispenser
We purchased this dispenser for a family member. She could not remember to take her medications.It has been a great decision. The device was very easy to program and works just as described. My only recommendation is I wish it had automatic DLS. I would recommend this item to all my family and friends.

Great product, awesome customer service.
This product has helped me tremendously. The first one I received had a defective lock, which made it useless for my situation, but customer service quickly responded, and shipped me a new one as soon as I could prove the defect with a photo, and let me keep the busted one. For that, I am very grateful. This is a great product for many situations. It is great for making sure elderly don’t accidentally double dose. It’s great for keeping others locked out from your medications. Great for stopping addicts from abusing their prescriptions. That is, if someone they trust holds the keys. Now, that being said, this is not a steel safe that can keep out anyone, you could easily break the plastic lid if someone were determined enough to get to your medications, but this is a great tool to deter others or yourself from taking medication in a manner other than is prescribed. Overall I am extremely happy with this product, and was well worth the money I spent on it.

Good pill dispenser choice.
I have had the dispenser for a week now and it works quite well. Only negative is the locking mechanism could be improved. You have to double check to see if the lid is securely locked. Engaging the key in the lock is not always easy to determine.

Couldn’t live without
We have been using this with my mother for over a year without any problems. This unit is secure, but not tamper proof. If someone wanted to get in, I think you could pry it open with a table knife or similar. But for anyone just confused about timing, this works like a charm. We got this when mom started taking pills from the wrong “box” in her standard pill organizer. As described, there are 28 slots for pills. Mom takes pills 4 times a day, so we can fill it for the week. When it buzzes and flashes, she takes the pills from the opening…the only ones accessible at that moment. We have always been very careful to make sure the locking lid is full closed and the latch is FULLY turned until you feel the stop. We have never had problems with small pills moving. When it beeps, you do need to remove the pills before the next dispense time…if you don’t, the carousel turns and you can’t access them without the key. Batteries seem to last a long time. We switched them after about 9 months, but we probably didn’t need to…it was working fine. I gave it 4 stars for ease of use because some people have struggled with the latch. I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness because it’s plastic and you could break it open with a thin pry. But a product that aced those things would cost considerably more, and this item works VERY well. As I said, no problems for more than a year (none) and we couldn’t get by without this.

Failed on first use; no fix other than replace. Save your $$ and buy something else.
the instructions were clear and set-up was not difficult. However, at the first set alarm time, the device displayed an “Err” on the screen, green lights around the device lit up, and there was no way to clear it or reset it. I “power cycled” it by pulling the batteries out and placing them back in (fresh, new batteries, not the generic brand batteries that were included with the device). Reseating the batteries allowed the device error to go away, but it was only temporary. The next “alarm” time arrived and the device blinked green and displayed the same “Err” message on the screen. For a contraption this expensive to fail immediately out of the box, I have no faith in the product quality and will be returning it. Additional concerns regarding quality is that the device must be locked in order for the door to be closed (it does not snap or click closed). Overall, the concept is great, but the quality and execution is horrible. 1 star is generous.

Great machine . Needs better latch.
Only negative is the latch and key are too cheap / flaw in design. The key slot fitting is not compatable enough with the key and the key slips when trying to lock or unlock. This caused the latch on the cover-thin plastic- to break after about 6 months. I bought another unit to replace the first. This is a dream machine for caring for my elderly mother. So I cannot do without it now. It was a huge help for us. One other thing, the shape of each individual pill dispenser slot is sort of triangular. Some pills tend do get lodged in the narrow space(oblong and Vit D gel caps) so I have am & pm total pill count typed on paper nearby. So when my mother turns the unit upside down to dispense the pills, she can count the pills to see if the proper amount came out. If not she can use pencil to get the remaining lodged pills to empty. We use a cookie pan with a dark color cloth on top so she can see the pills. Its just amazing how the medical professionals expect an 80+ year old to be able to be responsible enought to take 10+different medications thruout the day and be able to figure out every other day, and once evry 3 days.etc.. they just write the prescriptions and send them in their way. That is why I say this is a dream machine for our family. Especially when the medications change often. My sisters and I can setup the machine for a week or more. Then after doctor visits , we can change up the dispenser to match the new prescriptions. It gets frustrating. Just make (write out) chart for each week (something the doctors or medication professionals never do) then fill the machine. We us pictures of the pills and a total count for each dispense time. Making a chart really helps.

Bought it for my elderly mother. She fell in love with it instantly. She takes pills of all sizes, some very tiny. Never experienced the problem mentioned by others with small pills jumping into the next compartment when unit is shaken (it needs to be turned upside down to stop buzzing). The only drawback I can see is that when the carrousel is refilled, it needs to be set to dispense from one of the first compartments, leaving the ones that not been emptied untouched. Unless you let the unit dispense from all compartments, and then refill it, the compartments at the end of the carrousel will never be emptied or the pills they contain can stay there a very long time. There’s no way to easily take pills from the end of the carrousel to move them toward the beginning. Note however that it’s a minor problem. Love the product.
