Find peace
Spend a few minutes sitting quietly and noticing your breathing. With each breath in, feel your lungs expanding deeper until you find a slow, rhythmic pace. Picture yourself somewhere that feels peaceful and nurturing.

Recognize your strengths
Take a moment to acknowledge your growth and efforts this month. What is something you did well? Write a thank-you note to yourself and end it with a statement of pride in all you’ve accomplished.

Make time for you
Just as nature moves through seasons, you also need seasons of productivity and rest. How can you increase or decrease your activity level to better align with your current needs?

Additional help for us HSPs!
I was prescribed Depakote to lessen my sensitivity to my environment making me calmer but it isn’t a tranquilizer. It prevents agitation rather than subdues it.

Treasure Trove of Exercises, Mantras and Advice for HSPs and Anxious Folks
**** I received a free advance copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review****What a great resource for HSPs, those struggling with anxious thoughts and anyone wanting to calm all those negative internal monologues.Dr. Cassil has written this as a daily resource, giving each day a mantra, quote, advice or instruction to apply to the day. I read this book about 10 to 15 “days” at a time, picking a few of my favorite entries and marking them to remember for the future.I think for a lot of people it could be difficult to read one entry at a time due to the shear knowledgeable encouragement and also (if you’re anything like me) because I’d simply forget or get distracted by something else! But the message of the book is to give yourself grace to carry on and live life the way you deserve. In this way, Dr. Cassil expertly navigates the precarious day to day with somehow presenting the reader with 365 encouraging, affirming lessons. There should be no shame for forgetting a “day”.I personally think anyone can benefit from this book. Just keep your bookmarks, highlighter or pen handy and mark the days that speak to you and keep the book in an accessible place to reference on those days that are difficult. This book will give you the warmth, positivity and encouragement to remember that you are worth it.

The ultimate resource for surviving a pandemic (or just anyone stuck in your own head)
I didn’t realize how much I needed this book. I knew the ongoing pandemic had taken a toll on my mental health. I knew I had a history of putting others first, being overwhelmed by my environment when under stress, and that I need to process much more than I give myself space for. Dr. Cassil gets this. The amount of intention in this book-filled with beautiful quotes and gentle encouragements- it’s crafted for people like me. She doesn’t just push for boundaries (something my therapist and I have been working on for years), but gently follows up. One day she instructs: “say no to something this week.” Then immediately the next day I am challenged to think- how did saying no feel? What was I taught about saying no as a child? And on and on- the whole book is filled with these targeted but achievable reflections, beautiful poetry, and insights that speak to the unique experience of being a highly sensitive person. This is a necessary resource for anyone looking to engage in reflection and invest in themselves without being overwhelmed or shooting for impossible perfection.I was provided an advance copy of this book by the publisher.

A godsend after a rough year
Like many people, the pandemic hit me hard. I’ve been looking for tools to help me recover from a really difficult year. The Self Care Plan for The Highly Sensitive Person is exactly what I need. There is so much variety in the exercises and each one I’ve done has either nourished, replenished or encouraged me. I love how one day I may be reflecting and practicing mindfulness and the next day I may be performing something physical like stretching or hydrating with water. I am part way through the book and feel like I’m on a journey to becoming more gracious and compassionate to myself while gaining deeper rest.Dr Cassil’s first book (The Empowered HSP) helped me identify my tendencies as an HSP and taught me how to leverage my gifts to live a fuller life. When I read the introduction to The Self Care Plan for the HSP I instantly felt seen again and understood in a deep and meaningful way. This book would truly benefit anyone, even those that are not HSP’s. If you have never made self care a priority or if you are looking for another tool to add to your self care arsenal this book will not disappoint. I was provided an advance copy by the publisher.

A daily reminder to stay centered, introspective and positive
This book is exactly what I was looking for. It provides tidbits of daily reminders, inspirational quotes and exercises to help the HSP (and any type of person) to stay positive, learn more about themselves and achieve growth. I personally enjoyed reading a couple weeks worth of information at one time and then reflected back on them throughout the weeks. Then when I needed more I read more. This is not just focused on mental health, but also physical health and social health. It provides psychosocial exercises as well as fun reminders and quotes. What I love most is that it goes into detailed advice and thoughts and avoids generic quotes or advice that other mindfulness books sometime give. I will enjoy reading it throughout the rest of the year and will be sure to come back to it when I need to nourish my soul a little.**I received an advanced copy of this book but was unbiased in my review***

How to stay calm and positive
Specifically written for HSP people, or those who live with or work with them, this is a good tool for all of us who sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by life. These daily readings allow us to take a moment to breathe, reflect, and reset our perspective. I often read several at once, sometimes at random. It is a book that serves its purpose, and books like this will always be needed.

This was not what I expected, really disappointed!!!
The write-up on describing this book was not well done. In my interpretation, I was expecting a paragraph of daily insights to help the 20% of us find a haven to calm our anxiety, depression, or repetition of overthinking, over analyzing thoughts through her suggestions of self-care.If I could have looked inside the book and shown several examples, I perhaps would have passed this one up, however, that option was not available to me since the book had not been released yet to be sold here on Amazon. Some of the days have just one line of some sort of lame inspiration and then other days have a small paragraph with instructions that make me feel as if I am of a grade school age of understanding.
