Super comfortable period underwear
I recently purchased many different kinds of chemical free menstrual underwear after learning many of the menstrual underwear or products I currently own contain PFAS and other harmful materials. I try to judge based on how comfortable they are, if I’m able to, if they can hold up against leaking, and if the they are safe to sleep in. And these are by far one of the most comfortable I’ve tried! I love the soft seamless design of the unpadded areas and the padded areas don’t feel bulky or likely to leak. I imagine they won’t show much at all in tighter pants.I use menstrual underwear in combination with menstrual discs/cups so I can’t speak for its abilities while relying on these solely, but I’ve found that they work very well as added protection to a very heavy flow. That being said I’ve found that some brands of menstrual underwear have a high full-coverage backside while being right on the bridge of too low in the front, which these fall under. I believe some brands like saalt have this issue as well. It’s not a problem for some individuals with certain anatomy. Although in my case, low front items pose a huge risk. Especially for wearing while sleeping if I toss and turn or stomach/side sleep. And these were just short enough in the front to very lightly spill over during the workday so, in my case, I dont think they will be compatible for sleeping.I really do enjoy these underwear as they exceed in areas a lot of other products I’ve tried don’t. In the future if a version with a higher front is made I will be more than happy to get more pairs. They’re very comfortable, they look nice, they’re lightweight, soft, moisture wicking, and free of harmful chemicals. Pixie as a company genuinely seems to care about their customers as well as their products which I really appreciate on top of them being a small business.

The best of both worlds, and works for more than just blood!
If you haven’t yet tried free bleeding, it is truly liberating! And I’m gonna be honest (because honesty is the best policy) – menstrual underwear are now all I wear. What started out in my late 20’s as a convenient and comfortable way to catch uncontrollable uterine lining shedding 5 days a month has now in my late 30’s morphed into a way to catch uncontrollable urination from sneezing, coughing, laughing, or seemingly merely existing on all other days of the month. After nearly a decade of using various brands of menstrual underwear, I consider myself a bit of a period panty connoisseur.As alluring as the silky, stretchy feel of synthetic fibers can be, I always gravitate back to the organic options due to the health benefits, which for me outweigh the cons of less stretch combined with the thicker and slightly coarser texture of cotton.This brand intrigued me in that it combines the best of both worlds, which is a novel concept I had not yet come across. The stretch and outer softness/smoothness of synthetic fibers (which also serves to reduce visibility of wrinkles or clumping through clothing), yet with many of the health benefits thanks to having only organic cotton in direct contact with the vag*nal area.It is important to understand that these undies are not made entirely of organic cotton, nor is the entire innermost layer that is in contact with the skin. Rather, only the inner liner that holds the menstrual blood is organic cotton. The synthetic fibers – AKA plastic – DO directly contact your skin on the rest of the undies. Think of it like placing an organic cotton menstrual pad on the inside of your favorite pair of soft, synthetic panties. While ideally we don’t want plastic touching any of our body, it’s still reducing our overall exposure and the liner is the most important part for toxin exposure reduction and moisture waking capabilities for vag*nal microbiome health. The better wicking and breathability of cotton in the nether regions promotes healthier flora and temperature regulation. Who doesn’t want that, amirite?!So if you want most of the benefits without any of the downsides, and youre not yet willing to part with the soft and stretchy properties of synthetic, this is a fantastic option!The sizing was accurate compared to other brands I’ve used. The XS fits snug enough on my petite frame (5’1”, 95 lb) that there is no risk of slippage, but I prefer my clothing on the looser side for maximum comfort, so the small was preferable for me. Since they’re stretchy, there’s likely a lot of grace in between sizes compared with fully cotton options.In terms of absorbance capacity, it does great for my lighter periods, but based on how long I can go without any leakage, I would also expect these to be able to handle a medium to heavy flow as well, provided they are changed more frequently. That being said, it is also important to know that the average length and capacity of blood loss will necessitate owning approximately 3-6 pairs (unless you want to do laundry every day, in which case you might be able to get away with as few as two pairs).

Extremely comfortable and perfectly stretchy, I’ll be picking up at least one more pair. Only things I wish was different is for the pad coverage to be a little higher in the front.
